My wife first found out about crackle glass as a little girl when her family moved to West Virginia.  They bought a few pieces and she thought they were very pretty.  After we married and moved into our own house she unpacked them and put them on display

She also decided that since they were hers she didn't need to keep those labels that spoiled the perfection of the glass.  When she rediscovered crackle glass on Ebay and saw the difference in value between pieces with and without labels she sort of wished she hadn't done that.  ( Of course I used to throw away the dust jacket on hardback books I bought: live and learn.)

One thing led to another and a wide variety of crackle glass began to find its way to our house.  I now know it comes in many colors, was manufactured by several companies, and is increasing in value.

It has been fun to see the variety of colors and shapes in which it was made.  Since we live in the American Southwest where the intense sunlight can bleach and fade things, crackle glass makes the perfect window decoration.  The fracture lines reflect the bright sunshine and makes the pieces sparkle.  Glass doesn't fade or get harmed by the sunlight so everyone is happy.
